1) Automactic Detection Setup : 

Process:

1. Turn off the modem and router. Note: If you have a back-up battery on your modem, remove it temporarily.
2. Connect an Ethernet cable from the modem to the Internet port of the router (yellow cable in the diagram).
3. Connect an Ethernet cable from the computer to any one of the LAN ports of the router (gray cable in the diagram) .
4. Re-insert back-up battery (if any) and turn on the power of the modem. Wait for all lights to become stable.
5. Turn on the power of the router and wait for the power light to become solid green.
   
   
6. On the computer, launch an Internet browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, etc) and in the address bar typewww.routerlogin.com or www.routerlogin.net or http://192.168.1.1 (see the label on the bottom of your router to know which one is right for your router model, or try each). A NETGEAR login screen should appear.
7. Type in the username and password. The default username is admin and the default password is password.
   
   
8. Click on Advanced tab and click on Setup Wizard. Select Yes and click on Next.
   
   
   Note: The Setup Wizard will now detect the Internet connection type. It will take a couple of minutes to finish the process. If it detects a PPPoE connection, it will prompt you to type in the username and password provided by your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Most cable connections do not require this.
9. Once the setup has finished configuring the Internet connection, it will display the "Congratulations" page.
10. Click on Take me to the Internet to test the Internet connection

1) Manual Detection Setup :

1. Connect the NETGEAR router to it's power supply and wait about a minute for it to boot up and then connect to computer via ethernet or wireless.

2. Open an Internet Explorer browser and type the router IP address which would be either http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar and press Enter.

• The Login window will prompt for the router configuration username and password.
• The default username is “admin” and the default password is “password”.

Note  : If default will not work you need to reset the router. To know how to reset it click here..

3. Once you will get a Netgear page. Go to Internet Setting and Clone the Mac address of your modem port. Apply the settings.

4. Then connect the cable from the modem to router directly into the Internet Port.
